The Hotel

Where History, Art and Community Meet

Welcome to Spokane’s first European-inspired micro-boutique hotel, tucked into the historic walls of the Symons Block Building. Built in 1917–18 by the architectural team of Archibald Rigg and Roland Van Tyne , this graceful four-story terra cotta and brick landmark has long been a pulse point of downtown life.

Where Past and Present Meet

Over the decades, the Symons Block has housed Spokane’s earliest radio station, bustling local enterprises, and creative hubs.

Today, we’ve carefully reimagined it for the modern traveler — preserving its architectural soul while crafting rooms that invite you to pause, reflect, and belong.

At Symons Block Hotel, we celebrate more than just a place to rest. We honor the building’s past, infuse it with design-forward energy, and open our doors to a vibrant creative community. Our goal? To give you space to feel more alive.

Interactive Art

FREE LOVE LETTERS

Step into our lounge and find Free Love Letters, an interactive, community art installation by Italian-American expressionist Moneta Lyons. Write or receive a note, fold it into a paper airplane, and send a little love into the world — or just let it be a moment of quiet play. This piece is for both guests and locals, because connection matters.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Spokane, Symons Block Hotel lives within a building full of soul. Proud of its rich history where even local celebrity Bing Crosby graced the halls, the building echoes with stories from the past. We've preserved its character — the original brick, the timeless architecture — while reimagining it as a warm, welcoming place for today’s traveler.
